FAQ
I do all the time. Sespe Pottery is fired in the kiln to 2232 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's unlikely the temperatures you might reach in your oven can affect it. As with any baking dish, you do want to avoid "thermal shock." That means taking something really cold and making it suddenly really hot or the other way around. I bake sourdough bread at nearly 500 degrees Fahrenheit in covered Sespe Pottery dishes.
Unlikely it will be photo-identical. I will strive to match the description and visual image that you saw on line, but the nature of handmade work is that each piece is unique, bearing the eccentricities of the maker's mood, glaze application, kiln conditions, and so on. If you are a collector of artisan-made art you have probably already learned to appreciate its subtleties. That said, if you order Sespe Pottery and what you receive is truly divergent from the photo and specification noted on the website, contact me and we will work something out. I aim to please and am proud of my work.
